Our vest come in a variety of colors, weights, designs and be customized just for your special needs person. Our vest look like regular clothes! So, no one will even know they are wearing them. Many individuals with sensory processing problems such as autism, mental retardation or ADHD have shown dramatic improvement in their ability to sit still and concentrate on work and tasks. They can wear these vests before or during gross motor, heavy work, table top activities, classroom, or at-home activities. Anytime they need that extra sensory input that their bodies needs to perform tasks with sustained concentration. Our custom made weighted vests are great for individuals with sensory issues like ADHD. Weight capacity ranges from 5lbs to 15lbs depending on vest size. There are between 4 and 6 pockets depending on the size. Weights are sandbags in small pouches that can be removed for washing and weight changes that may need to be made. As a behavioralist with over 25 years of experience working with challenging behaviors and the mother of a 14 year old son with Autism, I began my career as an psychiatric technician and went on to receive a B.A. in Communicative Disorders Assistive Technology. I currently provide products and services in Behavior Management, Assistive Technology, Communication, environmental augmentation in the home, school as well as residental facilities.
