| Behavior Cue Cards When we become upset it is difficult to make good choices. For a person with special needs this is even tougher when they can’t express how they feel or understand what is expected of them. The set includes 23-3x5 visual cue cards to help that person make the right choices and express themselves. Cards include cues such as, “I Will Take a Breath, I Will Use my Words, No Hitting,” Along with this there are three cards (red, yellow and green in color) that help the person express “I Need Time Away, I am Ready to work” and a caution cue that tells them to “stop and think.”
These cards are a great way to help reduce unwanted behaviors while reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
What these cards say: I will make good choices I will count to ten I will use nice words I will take a deep breath I will think about my actions I will follow directions I can take time away I can ask for help Quiet body No scratching No pinching Do not bite others Sit nicely Listen No hitting No spitting I will not pull hair I will use a quiet voice Keep my hands to myself I will not kick others Red- yellow- green cards Red- Stop take time away Yellow- Slow down make good choices Green- I am ready Please remember that you want to tell them what you want to do instead of what you don't what them to do. I changes the though in their mind to the appropriate action instead of the inappropriate action they are doing. It’s a great addition to your collection of educational material for special needs children.
