Can Ride The School Bus Safely

It is important to learn to ride in a car, van or school bus safely. I often hear that a child will hit, scratch, scream or bite others while riding the bus. These behaviors create an unsafe environment for everyone on the bus. By teaching the child appropriate behaviors such as looking out the window, holding an item and playing quietly, keeping their hands and body to themselves the child learns appropriate strategies that they can use in all situations when riding in a vehicle. This book is a must for any child that struggles to remain seated, keep their hands to themselves and use an appropriate voice.

What are Social Stories

Social Story Books, tools for teaching social skills to children with autism and related disabilities. Social stories provide an individual with accurate information about those situations he may find difficult or confusing. Each situation is described in detail and focus is given to key points: the important social cues, the events and reactions the individual might expect to occur in the situation, the actions and reactions that might be expected of them, and why. The goal of our stories; to increase the individual’s understanding, make them more comfortable, and suggest some appropriate responses for the situation in question.
