I often hear that a child will hit, scratch, scream or bite others while riding the bus. These behaviors create an unsafe environment for everyone on the bus. By teaching the child appropriate behaviors such as looking out the window, holding an item and playing quietly, keeping their hands and body to themselves the child learns appropriate strategies that they can use in all situations when riding in a vehicle. As a behavioralist with over 25 years of experience working with challenging behaviors and the mother of a 14 year old son with Autism, I began my career as an psychiatric technician and went on to receive a B.A. in Communicative Disorders and Assistive Technology.
